Big increase in visitors to Girona Flower Festival

Figures from city council confirm the success of the Girona Flower Festival, with a big increase in the number of visitors to the city during this time compared with last year’s festival.

With hotel occupancy of up to 88 percent during the 10 days of the festival, the number of visitors is estimated to be 15 to 20 percent higher and the number of coaches bringing in tourists has increased by 14 percent.

All this has been good news for tourist related businesses. Restaurants reportedly served an extra shift at lunchtime thanks to the number of French visitors to the town, who lunch early. A number of coaches also brought cruise passengers from the port of Palamós.
