Platja d’Aro to stage second carnival in June

Platja d’Aro is to stage another carnival parade in the commercial district on Sunday 2nd June, giving all those who put so much effort into the February carnival the chance to show off the work they put in.

Apparently it is something that has been proposed by local organisers before, but this time they are thinking of the economic benefit that might result from additional tourism. However, seeing as it is planned for the very beginning of the season the effect is likely to be small and the PSC (Catalan Socialist Party) would have preferred it to be in August.

Platja d’Aro is just about right in August though, it’s busy but you can more around. Adding a carnival to the mix would, for me at least, probably make the town unbearable for that time and I’m not sure how happy anyone would be dressed up in their carnival outfit in the heat of August.
